About Our School
Welcome to Tracy Elementary School, Home of the Trojans. At Tracy, our mission drives our vision to develop future innovative, global thinkers. As a staff and community, we believe that we must prepare all learners for a successful future. Our fervent belief is that all Tracy School TK-5th grade students will become productive citizens of future global society by effectively displaying the 4 C’s of 21st Learning: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. In addition, with a continued focus on college awareness and preparation, we are preparing our students with the skills needed to be successful in middle school and high school with the ultimate goal of attaining a post-secondary degree.
Our teachers and instructional support staff also strive to provide our students with a well-rounded, rigorous education while incorporating the four tenets of our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) systems we have in place. These four expectations are Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Kindness. In addition, through a collective agreement that as a school, we are all a piece of the puzzle, our teachers and support staff lead by example and ensure they develop friendly and positive relationships with our students and families.
At Tracy School, students are provided with various differentiated learning opportunities in their classrooms. They receive timely intervention lessons from our Curriculum Intervention Technology Coach (CTIC), Intervention Teacher on Special Assignment (Intervention ToSA), and our Intervention Aide. This team’s primary goal is to use data to create fluid groups of at-promise students who will benefit from additional support to reach grade-level standards. In addition, our Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students participate in an enrichment program during the school day led by our GATE Advisor. She successfully utilizes the 4 C’s and STEM-based activities to enhance our students’ learning by challenging them to think outside the box as they participate in project-based enrichment units once a month. Every TK – 5th-grade student is provided a Chromebook that helps them access various educational software programs in either English or Spanish. These programs include but are not limited to iReady, Accelerated Reader, Istation, Dream Box, myOn, Reading Eggs, Math Seeds, Rosetta Stone, and many more.
As an award-winning Dual Language (DL) school, students in Tracy School’s DL program use language arts and mathematics curricula parallel to their English counterparts. They follow the 90/10 Dual Language Immersion Model, which incrementally increases the percentage of instruction in English while decreasing instructional minutes in Spanish as students move up in grade level. By 5th and 6th grade, DL students demonstrate their bilingual aptitude by participating in standards-aligned, rigorous instruction conducted 50% of the day in Spanish and 50% in English.
