About Our School
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! At Darnall Charter School (DCS) we value our partnerships with parents, families, and community, and we enjoy working with families to help students achieve their full potential. The Darnall staff truly love working with kids and families. We take seriously the trust you place in us by sending your children to our school every day, and we work hard to make students and families feel safe and supported.
At Darnall Charter, we have high expectations of our students, and we have high expectations of ourselves to help all Darnall's students learn and grow into well-rounded citizens and critical thinkers. Darnall aims to develop leadership skills, social and emotional skills, and academic skills to prepare students for success not only in elementary but also in middle school, career, relationships, and life-long learning.
On March 16, 2020, Darnall Charter was closed for on-campus learning due to the COVID19 pandemic. Darnall Charter School continues to be committed to providing services during distance learning for all stakeholders. In September 2020, Darnall Charter School opened virtually. Teachers and staff worked diligently to make distance learning a success. Close to the end of the school year, DCS opened its doors to hybrid learning.
In the summer of 2021, DCS offered a unique summer experience for all students. It was designed to address the learning loss and social and emotional learning (SEL).
